FLAM: After-School & Saturday French Classes — Inspired by the French Educational Curriculum
EFB Boston’s after-school and Saturday French classes in Boston are inspired by the French Educational Curriculum. Designed for French-speaking students attending American schools, our program helps children master French oral expression, listening comprehension, and writing — while staying connected to their French heritage. Les p'tits curieux (Ages 3-4)
3 hours a week on Saturday morning
A fun, engaging class designed to develop oral language skills and expand vocabulary through hands-on activities, stories, songs, and games. Children will also gradually build early reading and writing readiness through phonological awareness and pre-writing activities.
Les Explos (Ages 5-7)
Twice a week for 1.5 hour or 3 hours on Saturday morning
This class is designed to encourage your child to speak and share their thoughts in French while expanding their vocabulary and introducing writing.
Although our main focus is on speaking in French, learning to read and introducing cursive writing are also a strong part of this program.
Les Lecteurs (Ages 8-10)
Twice a week for 1.5 hour, once a week for 2 hours (wednesday), or 3 hours on Saturday morning
This class promotes and develops oral and written language skills. Your child will develop his or her language by expressing their thoughts, asking questions, and listening to others for comprehension. Conjugation will be introduced. History, geography, and civic lessons will be used to enhance comprehension of more complex French language. During this cycle, we also pay particular attention to spelling and grammar.
Les P’tits Philos (Ages 11-13)
3 hours a week on Saturday morning
This class strengthens your child’s spoken and written French while encouraging independent thinking and thoughtful discussion. Through projects exploring a variety of themes throughout the year, children learn to express and support their ideas, ask meaningful questions, and consider different perspectives. Particular attention is given to conjugation, spelling, and grammar, helping children communicate with greater clarity, accuracy, and confidence.
Club Ados (Ages 13+)

Through specific themes, the students will reinforce their knowledge of French by reading classic and modern authors. Advanced grammar rules and conjugation will be taught, supported by the use of technology in class.
